Meet The 2008 Team
Our staff are mature, patient and love working with young children. They are all skilled and experienced teachers who are certified in their field and hold first aid certificates. Each instructor also participates in a custom training program to learn the standards and safety procedures of the Atlantis & Pedalheads method of teaching.

Claudia Sjoberg — Owner and Founder
Claudia started Atlantis Programs in 1986 shortly after doing her Bachelor of Physical Education at UBC. Now overseeing all the programs, she has two kids of her own (Wyatt aged 11; and Matilda aged 9!) and was short-listed for a 2006 YWCA Women of Distinction Award in the Recreation, Sport & Healthy Living category.
Barb Gass — Community Liaison / Marketing Manager
Barb has been in marketing and promotions for the past 13 years. As a lifelong practitioner of both swimming and biking, she's thrilled to be promoting kids health and development with Atlantis. Through cultivating relationships in the community, her goal is to raise awareness of the positive impact physical education has on today's kids.

Karen Foan — Human Resources Manager
Karen joined the Atlantis team in January 2006 and has a Human Kinetics degree from UBC. Karen has always enjoyed working with children and is a big supporter of health and fitness education from a young age. An athlete herself, Karen's current goal is to become a competent triathlete.

Connie Tseng — Office Manager
Connie arrived at Atlantis after completing her Psychology degree at SFU. Speaking English and Mandarin, she is currently working towards a Bookkeeping Certificate at Langara. Connie loves to play volleyball and is an avid basketball and hockey fan.

Chris Oatman — Supervisor
Chris grew up in Guelph where he taught the Red Cross and Lifesaving Society's Bronze programs. Teaching at Atlantis since the fall of 2004, Chris is our most requested instructor and a respected supervisor.
Currently studying environmental science at UBC, he likes to see many of the same faces from session to session — it's such a great feeling to see someone doing their first front crawl strokes after you first helped them learn to float.
Veena Mudaliar — Supervisor
Veena is in her fourth year at SFU, majoring in English, and minoring in Psychology. An instructor for Atlantis programs for several years, her enthusiastic attitude and experience teaching make her another favorite of many families at Atlantis.
Point Grey is Pleased to Introduce:
Vlada Vidic — Supervisor
In his fifth year at Pedalheads and fourth as Jericho Supervisor, Vlada holds a bachelor of Human Kinetics and is working towards his teaching degree at UBC. Having played basketball at Capilano College for four years, he also coaches and runs camps for RBL (Real Basektball League) and St. Georges School.
Nicola Kirkpatrick — Supervisor
Nicola learned to swim with us when she was a little girl! Now a UBC Grad and an Alpha Gam sorority member, she's thrilled to be working at Atlantis.
Tanja Bergen — All Day Supervisor
Tanja’s fourth year at Pedalheads, but first at Jericho. When she’s not biking, Tanja’s studying cell biology and works for UBC, researching rhizopogon mychorrhizal fungi. She’s smart!
Katie Greene — All Day Supervisor
In her fifth summer at Pedalheads, Katie holds a BA in history from UBC. She is currently completing her education degree to become an elementary school teacher.
Jessica Christie — All Day Instructor
A sociology student at Uvic, Jess will pursue a career in education. She loves making kids laugh and looks forward to seeing them learn how to bike. A lot of my friends call me Jazzy Jess, and you should too!
Nancy Cornish — All Day Instructor
This is Nancy’s third year at Pedalheads. Currently completing her degree in environmental Studies at the University of Ottawa, she loves biking because it is a great environmentally friendly mode of transportation!
Jessica Chelak — All Day Instructor
Jessica has been with Atlantis since 2003. NLS Certified, she started as a swimming instructor. Working on her marketing degree at UNBC, in her third year at Pedalheads, Jessica is now an All Day Camp Instructor.
Chris Hildreth — All Day Instructor
Our 2008 poster boy, Chris Hildreth has worked for Pedalheads for years. After high school he went to Australia for two years and just came back from Central America and Mexico. Eventually, he wants to study and move to Australia.
Kate Morrison — All Day Instructor
While this is Kate's first year instructing at Pedalheads, she's worked at kids camps for several years. Graduating with a French degree from UVic in December, Kate plans to be a French imersion elementary school teacher.
Gillian Murschell — Instructor
Gillian’s fondest biking memory involves scrounging wood scraps from her neighbour’s shed
and riding over them in the back alley. Ten years later, she’s joined Pedalheads to give your
kids similar great experiences, (but with better equipment!)
Jackie Bull — Instructor
Currently completing her Human Kinetics degree at UBC, when she’s not instructing at
Pedalheads, Jackie is volunteering at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Jackie enjoys playing
volleyball, basketball and soccer.
Janine Reid — Instructor
An enthusiastic cyclist, Janine rides rain or shine, just like Pedalheads! Her favourite place
to bike is Stanley Park. Attending Prince of Wales Mini School, Janine spends much of her
free time volunteering with kids.
Teagin Udow — Instructor
Teagin has worked at many summer camps and can’t wait to work with the kids at
Pedalheads. She plans to attend Huron College at Western University in the Fall.
James Yanchuk — Instructor
His second year at Pedalheads, James plays sports such as ultimate and water polo. James
graduated from Lord Byng Secondary next year.
Jamie Duncan — Instructor
Studying art and history at UBC, when he’s not at Pedalheads Jamie enjoys playing guitar and drawing or painting. Jamie’s favourite place to ride is around Jericho Beach.
Ian Cadenhead — Instructor
Ian is an energetic teenager who loves action sports. When he is not teaching at Pedalheads, he teaches skimboarding at Spanish Banks and skiis at the local mountains.
Jeremy Yen-Chiu — Instructor
When not instructing at Pedalheads, Jeremy is a hardcore runner with a track club. His favourite sports team is the Canucks, (of course!) and in the fall he'll be heading off to Queen's to study Kinesiology.
Allison Zerko — Instructor
Allison hails from Ontario, so is really excited to be spending her summer biking on the West Coast! An athletic instructor, when she's not biking she enjoys playing soccer and hockey.
Kelsey Frank — Instructor
When not instructing at Pedalheads, Kelsey likes to be outdoors hiking and camping. Kelsey studies psychology at UBC and likes to bike to school!
Rebecca Bartlet — Instructor
Rebecca enjoys playying soccer, softball ice hockey, and of course, biking! A graduate of Point Grey Secondary, she will be attending McGill in the fall.
Elise Buckley — Instructor
Elise learned to ride at Pedalheads and is really looking forward to working here. An avid soccer and volleyball player, she attends Prince of Wales Secondary and speaks English and French.
Gabrielle Hodgson — Instructor
You may have seen Gabrielle coaching at Point Grey and Dunbar soccer camps. An avid soccer player and Sudoko champion, she has recently received her pilot's licence. Gabrielle is pursuing a physics and math honours degree at UBC.
Adam Sudmant — Instructor
Adam has been a swim instructor in the Atlantis pool. His first year with Pedalheads, he also plays guitar, basketball and ultimate and studies at UBC.
Kyle Farquarson — Instructor
Kyle enjoys soccer, swimming and of course biking! His first year at Pedalheads, he is looking forward to teaching all the kids and is stoked about theme days!
Becky Schnurr-Howsam — Instructor
A biking enthusiast, Becky loves to ride all sorts of streets and trails with kids of all ages. She also teaches swimming. Becky loves to play games and have fun, so if you see her around, make sure to say 'hi'!
Kim Munro — Instructor
Kim has been biking in every province in Canada! She has worked at many daycamps, loves sports and games and is excited to be working with bikes this summer. Kim recently completed her Political Science degree at UBC, and is happy to have the summer off from studying!
Jenny Huang — Instructor
Her first year at Pedalheads, Jenny loves working with children and has previously worked at Catching the Spirit camp. She loves being outdoors and particularly cycling. She will be going back for her second year at UBC in the fall.
Sean Aldcroft — Instructor
After ten years of camp work in a variety of other locations, Sean is excited to be working with Pedalheads this summer. A substitute teacher in the Vancouver School District, he hopes to be your child’s teacher in the Fall!
Allison Prime — Instructor
Allison just completed her Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University’s Outdoor Experiential and Ecological program. She can be seen riding her bike all over the city, as it is her sole form of transportation!
Vancouver Centre is Pleased to Introduce
Nick Pavlakis — Supervisor
Currently working on his History Degree at UVic, this is Nick’s sixth summer with Pedalheads! As a member of the Pedalheads Patrol team, a piano teacher, a tennis teacher and an allround encouraging leader, he’s one of our most requested instructors. Nick is also a singer/songwriter, who may decide to become famous or pursue a career in law enforcement.
Kyle Nystad — Supervisor
This is Kyle's second year with Pedalheads, the first was as supervisor in our South Surrey location. When not at Pedalheads, Kyle can be found on the local mountain biking trails trying to go as fast as possible. His other job is teaching PhysEd at Secondary School.
Peter Hartwick — Assistant Supervisor
Just back from Spain, Peter has trekked through Peru and acted as a youth correspondant with BEST. A graduate of the Global Stewardship program at Cap College, when Peter isn’t working for Pedalheads he’s acting as a steward for the globe, like when he participatied in the Canada World youth exchange in Botswana, Africa.
Ben MacIntosh — Instructor
Last year was such a blast that in this, his second year, Ben hopes to carry his positive experiences forward and top them this year. When not teaching at Pedalheads Ben plays a lot of sports. He will be attending SFU next year and plans to have a career in law enforcement.
Simon MacIntosh — Instructor
Simon has played basketball at the regional and provincial levels. Currently a student at Prince of Wales Secondary, where he’s captain of the Junior Varsity basketball team, Simon volunteered at Pedalheads all last year, and helped out with our charity program.
Jessica Knutson — Instructor
During the year, Jessica attends McGill University and swims on its synchronized swimming team. In her free time, she enjoys roller blading and swimming.
Paul Sales — Instructor
If you ask what Paul is doing, the answer will almost always be riding his bike. He races and enjoys riding with his dad and younger brothers.
Mandana Hashemi — Instructor
Mandana is excited to teach kids cylcing fun, safety and skills this summer. A Recreation Leadership student at Langara College, she will be finishing her diploma next year.
Fueng Yan — Instructor
Fueng has volunteered at many day camps. She is excited to be working with your fun and energetic kids on the upcoming sunny, summer days.
Mark Burril — Instructor
No stranger to sports camp, Mark volunteered at Pedalheads in the summer of 2006 and has taught skiing in Whistler for the past two winters. An avid skier and biker, he placed second in his category at the 45km Cheakamus Challenge Mt. Bike Race!
Cori Davidson — Instructor
Cori loves working with children of all ages and will be starting Langara's Early Childhood Education program in the fall. When not biking, she's swimming; pretending to be a mermaid!
Stephanie Smith — Instructor
Stephanie teaches cycling and swimming! A recent graduate of Eric Hamber, she looks forward to working with your kids.
Mark McLarty — Instructor
Mark is out for an injury at the moment, but we hope to have him back soon!
North Vancouver is Pleased to Introduce
Jeff Meiklejohn — Supervisor
An accomplished rider, Jeff attended national team training camps when he was younger. Trained as a counselor at Outdoor School in Paradise Valley and a UBC grad, this is Jeff’s sixth year at Pedalheads, (he’s also a bike mechanic, so feel free to ask him about any bike problems you might have).
Emma Seddon — Supervisor
Emma has worked for us for years. Previously a Supervisor in our West Vancouver and Surrey camps, we're happy to have her back in North Van. Studying Nursing at BCIT, she used to be a cheerleader at UBC, ask her to do a cartwheel for you!
Christy Gass — All Day Supervisor
Christy has worked in early childhood education for over a decade. Running her own daycare for many years, she decided to close ‘Bright Beginnings’ when she had her daughter. Now that Catriona is four, Christy is pleased to get back to her favourite work - positively impacting kids.
Erin De Zwart — Assistant All Day Supervisor
This is Erin's first year as a Pedalheads instructor. She brings a wealth of experience, having taught at four other summer camps and spent six months gaining bicycle maintenance skills at a community bike shop. She absolutely loves her ultra-light roadbike!
Ria Wisniewski — All Day Instructor
Ria has recently moved back from Japan where she taught preschool. Ria's favourite biking experience was riding through small French villages when she lived in Switzerland. Speaking French and English, she holds an Associate Degree in Psychology.
Danielle Jenvey — All Day Instructor
Danielle has been a volunteer daycamp leader for many years and loves doing any outdoor activities. When she isn't instructing at Pedalheads, Danielle enjoys doing the Grouse Grind and walking her dog at Ambleside.
Danielle Wing — All Day Instructor
Danielle is excited for her first year at Pedalheads! She loves working with children and playing all types of sports. During the school year, she goes to Uvic, where she is working towards a degree in English.
Stacy Smith — All Day Instructor
During the school year, Stacy teaches gymnastics in Lower Mainland elementary schools. Originally from Squamish, she's excited to get back on a bike again! Stacy is working towards her Human Kinetics degree at UBC.
Michelle Lappan — Assistant Supervisor
Michelle has worked at the North Vancouver since the second year it started! We're pleased to have her as our Assistant Supervisor this year.
Stephanie Wolf — Instructor
Steph has coached kids in track and field events and volunteered in school environments as a teacher’s assistant. She has just completed her first year at the University of Victoria, where she is studying for a Bachelor of Education.
Alec Beaton — Instructor
When he’s not instructing at Pedalheads, you can find him on the trails of the North Shore. The Beatonator, or Mountain Boy as some know him loves to ride some of the steepest, biggest and scariest terrain. He also enjoys teaching others to ride.
Mark Lappan — Instructor
MJ is a former triathlete and competitor in the 2002 BC summer games. A graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas, he plans on pursuing a career in education, teaching Canadian History at the high school level.
Nicole Meyers — Instructor
Currently completing her grade 12 at Sutherland Secondary, Nicole enjoys teaching kids and thinks she'll be the best Pedalheads teacher you'll ever have!
Emma Van Ryn — Instructor
This is Emma's first year working at Pedalheads, although she has volunteered here for the last four years. She enjoys going on bike trips with her family and helping out at kids activites at her local community centre. She is very excited to work at Pedalheads this summer!
Monica Sillas — Instructor
When not instructing at Pedalheads, Monica writes music for her band. She loves working with children and also volunteers at skating lessons.
Sonja Panozzo — Instructor
Sonja is a student at Argyle Secondary. She enjoys many sports including biking and competes in provincial cross-country skiing races. Sonja also loves working on the trapeze and her aerial skills at the Vancouver Circus School.
Sam Mills — Instructor
Currently studying to become a Physical Education Teacher, Sam enjoys all sports and has played competitive football for over 10 years. A volunteer coach at Rich Hansen Highschool, he enjoys working with, and being a strong role model for kids.
Alex Devlin — Instructor
This is Alex's second year at Pedalheads, his first year he volunteered. Alex works well and relates with kids, so can keep them learning in an entertaining fashion. He also loves to ride.
Ben Tannebaum — Instructor
For the past few years, Ben has been travelling around North America in the Katimavik Program where he taught at schools and daycares; he also did a two-month bike trip to California. The past couple of months he's lived in Ottawa where he biked all year long, (even in 2-3 feet of snow!) Ben will be starting in Capilano College's Global Stewardship program this fall.
Cameron Thorpe — Instructor
When he's not instructing at Pedalheads, Cam can be found racing his bike all over the Lower Mainland or playing Ninetendo Wii. He is currently completing his undergrad in Human Geography at Simon Fraser University.
Lizzi Pedersen — Instructor
A student at Argyle Secondary, Lizzi also coaches hockey camps for kids aged 6-12. She speaks English, French and Spanish.
West Vancouver is Pleased to Introduce:
Jehan Mawjee — Supervisor
Jehan is a Life Science major at Queen's. Her fourth year at Pedalheads and second year as supervisor, when not biking on the sea wall, Jehan enjoys playing tennis and volleyball.
Tiffany England — Supervisor
This is Tiffany's third year at Pedalheads. An SFU student, she has completed a mjor in psychology and is preparing to apply to the SFU and UBC Education programs.
Dave Fernig — Assistant Supervisor
Dave two big loves are his bike and his guitar. He is an arts student who really enjoys teaching kids the joys of cycling and the outdoors.
Jordan Whiteside — Instructor
When not at Pedalheads, you might find Jordan riding his bright green bike up the demo forest, or almost anywhere on the Shore. He also rides on the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. Jordan holds the Canadian Ski Instructors Level 2 and teaches at Grouse Mountain during the winter.
Glen Healy — Instructor
You may recognize Glen as a ski instructor from both Cypress and Grouse Mountains. He has volunteered for four months in Honduras and started university last fall.
David Whiteside — Instructor
In the winter, “DW” works as a ski instructor on the local mountains. In the fall, he’ll be studying arts at Capilano College. Until then, he’ll be a bike instructor all summer! Watch for him in the future when he and his rock band “insert” will be famous!
Jessica Deitcher — Instructor
This is Jessica's second year at Pedalheads. When not teaching kids to ride, she is a teacher in West Vancouver. Jessica speaks both official languages and loves arts & crafts!
Sara Vajihollahi — Instructor
Sara was studying Chemical Engineering and will be going back to UBC in the fall. She speaks English and Farsi and holds a life-saving certificate. Sara is also a professional cartoonist.
Isaac Tai — Instructor
Pursuing and education degree, Isaac aspires to be a teacher. Compassionate, serious and fun, Isaac seeks to be a responsible role model for all age groups.
Preet Lidder — Instructor
This is Preet's first year at Pedalheads, but she has been enjoying outdoor sports and working with kids for years! She has worked at the Chidren's Hospital, in football and soccer games. Preet will complete her degree in Animal Biology at UBC next year and just completed her first half marathon! She plans to work in education or pediatrics.
Melissa George — Instructor
Whether it's snowboarding on the mountain, hiking in Thailand or riding her bike, Melissa loves having fun outdoors and getting kids excited about it too!
Gavin Beetleston — Instructor
Gavin is in the midst of travelling the world. Originally from Ireland, he may talk funny, but he has loads of experience teaching children as he is a certified kayak and windsurfing instructor. Gavin is also a mountain guid and holds a wilderness first aid certificate.
Richmond is Pleased to Introduce:
Heather Johnstone — Supervisor
We are pleased to have Heather back for her fourth year, as Supervisor this time. In her final year at UBC, human kinetics, this summer Heather hopes to complete her first Olympic length triathalon.
Addie Davies — Supervisor
Addie is currently celebrating her 10th summer with Pedalheads. When she is not riding at the beach, she is finishing her degree in Art History at UBC. Addie's favourite food is lobster!
Gabe Law — Instructor
Gabriel has been with Pedalheads for four years, two as a Jr. Instructor and this is his second as an instructor. He’s ready to have an awesome time with the kids. Gabe is working on his bachelor’s in music at Douglas College during the school year and plans to move into film production or sound design.
Gavin Black — Instructor
Gavin has been at Pedalheads for four years. On the weekends he enjoys riding his bike on the local mountains and playing competitive soccer. Last year his team won the U16 Provincial Cup Championship. Throughout the school year, Gavin works with kids in neighbourhood schools through his Peer Helping class at school.
Connor Black — Instructor
Connor has volunteered with Pedalheads for the past 4 years. When he's not teaching at bike camp, Connor is searching for new places to ride and learning new bike tricks. His favourite place to ride is in Fernie, BC. In the winter you'll find him on the ski hill or at the bike park, bundled up for the rain!
Rachel Foo — Instructor
This is Rachel's first year as a Pedalheads' instructor after three years of
volunteering. Also known as Kung Foo by her friends, Rachel has recently
received her black belt in Taekwon-do and is teaching it to children at
local community centres in Richmond. She currently attends Steveston-London Secondary School.
Dana Moewes — Instructor
Dana has been active all her life, with sports such as soccer, basketball, and all kinds of dance. Last year her soccer team went to Nelson and won the U16 soccer provincials. Dana’s looking forward to a fantastic, active summer with the kids.
Ryan Miller — Instructor
Enjoying every minute of his four years volunteering with Pedalheads, Ryan also plays soccer, baseball and is a certified lifeguard. He speaks English and French.
Lisa Halliwell — Instructor
Lisa loves being around kids in the outdoors. Currently completing a degree in Human Health & Nutrition from McGill University, she is fluent in English and French.
Erin Pedersen — Instructor
With experience at community centres and Girl Guides, this is Erin's first year at Pedalheads. Erin loves being outdoors and has recently completed a degree at Capilano College focussing on working in the non-profit sector. Next fall she will spend five months on a Canada World Youth volunteer program in Honduras.
Andrew Lam — Instructor
His first year with Pedalheads, Andrew is attending his third year at UBC in general sciences. Enjoying basketball, badminton, hockey, volleyball and martial arts, Andrew speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Bryan Lee — Instructor
In addition to biking, Bryan enjoys skiing, hiking and badminton. His first year at Pedalheads, he will be studying medicine at UBC this fall. Bryan speaks English, Cantonese and French.
Janice Kao — Instructor
Janice loves to work with kids of all ages. Currently enrolled in her second year of a nursing degree program in Chilliwack, on her spare time she plays as much volleyball as possible!
Amrit Dhaliwal — Instructor
Amrit is a soccer player, and is favourite food is ice cream! He's looking forward to summer full of bike-riding fun!
Coquitlam is Pleased to Introduce:
Kristen Rieu — Supervisor
This is Kristen’s sixth year with the Pedalheads program, either in Coquitlam or Victoria. In the fall, she’ll be returning to UVic to continue a degree in psychology and linguistics. Kristen loves to ride her bike in Victoria because it’s so beautiful and usually sunny!
Michelle Hoffman — Supervisor
A 4th year SFU student, last summer Michelle did a 3-week bike tour down the Pacific Coast. Teaching kids the skills to perhaps one-day do something similar is a rewarding prospect.
Andrea Meisl — All Day Supervisor
This is Andrea's fourth year with Pedalheads. She started as an instructor, skipped a year and is now supervising our All Day Camp. We're very pleased to have her back!
Amanda Neuman — Supervisor
An alumni of the Coquitlam location, in her 5th year, she will be making appearances at various Pedalheads locations. During the offseason, Amanda is completing her degree in Recreation.
Max Bitel — Supervisor
Max is the very model of a modern Pedalhead instructor! Over the years he has finished
top in the SPOKE racing series, been accorded the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, secured the
Gordon M. Shrum Scholarship and completed his IB Leadership Training. The mastermind
behind and leader of our Trails Only program, Max has completed his Computer Science &
Business degrees at SFU.
Hilarie Ford — All Day Instructor
When Hil’s not working towards her Teaching Program at SFU, she spends her time working
as a Special Ed tutor for kids with Autism and Downs Syndrome. Her favorite place to bike
is in and around the Pitt Lake area, in Pitt Meadows. Her socks never match and she can
always be heard above the crowd.
Thilini Leitan — All Day Instructor
When not instructing at Pedalheads, Thilini helps run a girl guide group and helps out at her mother's daycare. Regularly volunteering at a downtown eastside soup kitchen, she recently traveled to the Bronx to help inner city kids.
Christina Drescher — Instructor
On the Honour Roll at Heritage Secondary, this is Christina’s fourth year with Pedalheads. Christina has completed her Red Cross Babysitter training, she loves working with kids, helping them
to learn and improve, and getting them to smile!
Katie Simon — Instructor
This BC native took a trip to Quebec and loved it so much she’s studying to be a French-as-a-second-language teacher. Biking and watersports are her favourite summer activities.
Joel Crichton — Instructor
Joel is a student at Heritage Woods Secondary. Although he also plays hockey and basketball, biking is his favourite thing to do in the world. He’s really looking forward to teaching your child.
Hailey MacDonald — Instructor
Hailey loves sports. She plays ringette and field hockey, and is thrilled with the prospect of her second year at Pedalheads. She has completed an outdoor program where she got her first aid and canoeing certificate. Ride On!
Scott Hibbeln — Instructor
Scott likes coaching and playing lacrosse. One of his favourite activities when not teaching at Pedalheads, is riding up at Whistler. Scott is stoked to share his knowledge about biking with the next generation of riders.
Natalie Likhtarova — Instructor
When not instructing at Pedalheads, Natalie is working towards dancing professionally. Volunteering with youngsters at her dance studio, her life would not be complete without kids and she plans to become an elementary school teacher.
Alex Daigneau — Instructor
An enthusiastic rider, when he's not teaching at Pedalheads he's at the bike park or in Whistler downhilling! Completing grade 12 at Heritage Woods Secondary, where he is a member of the ski and snowbaord team, he's looking forward to teaching your kids this summer.
Rhuella Demegillo — Instructor
When she's not instructing at Pedalheads, Rhu plays basketball and volleyball. Currently a student at Byrne Creek School, she's proud to be a member of one of basketball's 'Top 10 of BC' in the Provincial Junior Tournament this year.
Jen Cousineau — Instructor
With a background in coaching and participating in the Coast Outdoor Education program, Jen is excited to be instructing for her first year at Pedalheads. She is pursuing a degree in kinesiology with the goal of moving into physiotherapy.
Tim Huang — Instructor
Tim has volunteered with an art camp at Place de Art on Brunette. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, he is excited for his first year with Pedalheads.
Lauren Parker — Instructor
Lauren loves basketball, tennis and giraffes! She plans on becoming a nurse and travelling the world. Once in Costa Rica, she slept in a room full of bats!
Lauren MacDonald — Instructor
When Lauren is not teaching at Pedalheads, she loves to jog. A biker all her life, she is currently entering her 4th year at Douglas College in the Education & Coaching program, planning to become a high school teacher.
Michelle Mackay — Instructor
Michelle loves being outdoors and keeping active playing lacrosse and other team sports. Currently attending SFU in the faculty of Health Sciences, she also volunteers at Lakeshore Care.
Antoinette Yap — Instructor
This is Antoinette, but most people just call her ANT. When she’s not teaching at Pedalheads,
she’s busy completing her Greek and Roman Studies/Linguistics degree at the University of Calgary.

Jen Diemert — Supervisor
Currently completing a Bachelor of Education at UBC, Jen can’t wait to become a teacher. Working with kids and helping them be successful in reaching their potential is what she enjoys. Jen is truly excited to be part of your kids Pedalheads experience.
Jen Paszkat — Supervisor
Jen is a teacher in the Surrey school district where she teaches learning assistance. In her spare time she figures skates and even competes nationally. This is her 2nd year at Pedalheads as a supervisor. One thing she is looking forward to is working with another great group of instructors and helping children achieve their biking goals.
Jas Hayre — Instructor
Currently studying Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley, Jas plans to become an elementary school teacher. He speaks both English and Punjabi and his nickname is Hayrebear!
Holly Gray — Instructor
Holly is from Austrailia. She loves to work and goof around with kids and is a big fan of Superman -- if she had his powers, she'd save the world!
Michelle Marasco — Instructor
Michelle loves working with kids, is always enthusiastic regarding exercise and the outdoors and studies in French immersion. Her favourite colour is blue and she enjoys travelling within Canada.
Kasia Butkiewicz — Instructor
Kasia volunteers for many charities, last year she also volunteered at Pedalheads! She is a leadership student who loves working with kids.
Ola Faliszewski — Instructor
When not instructing at Pedalheads, Ola likes to horseback ride, play ultimate, sing and try new things. She speaks Polish and will be attending U of A in the fall.
Sarah Edmilao — Instructor
Sarah is a new instructor at Pedalheads. Studying Human Kinetics at UBC, she loves biking in the trails! Her favourite movie is Willy Wonka and prefers mint chocolate chip in ice cream. Sarah rides a mountain bike and a road bike and loves being outdoors.
Julia Stewart — Instructor
Julia is thrilled to be back in White Rock, where she grew up, to teach at Pedalheads. Completing her degree in English and Music at Indiana University, she loves the outdoors, running and being around kids. Julia's favourite flavour of ice cream is creme de menthe!
Danielle Miller — Instructor
This is Danielle's first year at Pedalheads and she is excited to get started. Studying International Development at the University of Winnipeg, she hopes to one day live on a farm and have plenty of kids of her own!
Mira Galperin — Instructor
Currently attending UBC, Mira aspires to become a teacher. An avid animal lover, she enjoys reading and writing. This is Mira's first year teaching at Pedalheads and she is excited for a fun-filled summer.
David Nelson — Instructor
Dave is studying to become an elementary school teacher at Simon Fraser University. When he's not out riding his bike or in class, he's fighting crime as Super D!
Laura McAuliffe — Instructor
This is Laura's first year at Pedalheads, but don't fret! She loves cycling and pretty much everything to do with bikes. When she's not cycling across Canada or Japan, she's learning Spanish for her next bike trip to South America!
Victoria is Pleased to Introduce:
Daniel Reeve — Supervisor
This is Dan's third year with the Pedalheads program. Originally opening our camp in Vancouver Centre, he is now on the island because he teaches Political Science at Camosun College during the school year. Previously Director of the Ski School at Mount Seymour and Coordinator of the Vancouver Ultimate League, Dan has a wealth of experience in the Recreation and Education fields.
Ben Oryall — Supervisor
Ben has been working at Pedalheads for a VERY long time as a volunteer,
instructor and assistant supervisor. Attending UVic, he is completing a degree in history with plans of going to law school. Known also as bigs or biggles to his friends, Ben is an avid sports fan and has played rugby and hockey for years.
Kaari Nurmsoo — Assistant Supervisor
Kaari is a fourth year education student at UVic. When she isn’t busy biking, Kaari likes to travel. She is very excited about her first year on the Pedalheads team.
Dayna Forsgren — Instructor
Dayna loves working with kids and wants to ensure that all children have an active lifestyle and are safe on the road. In her third year at Uvic, she is working towards a degree in education. A certified kayak guide and fluent in Spanish, she is fun, energetic and always positive.

Nick Stabler — Supervisor
During the year, Nick is an elementary school teacher. With a BA in history, he loves to bike and competes in triathalons. This is his first year with Pedalheads.
Emily Spring — Assistant Supervisor
This is Emily's first year working at Pedalheads. At the end of the summer, she goes back to work as a high school Physical Education teacher.

Samia Drisdelle — Supervisor
Originally from Montreal, Samia now enjoys her time supervising Pedalheads and illustrating childrens books. This fall she will be teaching art to middle school students. On most weekends, you'll find her walking her dog by the river and riding her bike on one of Calgary's great bike trails!
