Our instructors and supervisors are enthusiastic, patient, mature and flexible individuals who have first aid and experience with children.

Swimming Instructors

Atlantis Swim Programs is looking for experienced, friendly and energetic swimming instrutctors to teach the Red Cross Pre-School/Swim Kids Program. We offer small classes of 4-6 kids in a small warm water pool. We are now accepting resumes for Fall 2008 and Winter 2009.

  • Must have Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
  • Must have Lifesaving Society NLS
  • Must have CPR and First Aid
  • Must have teaching experience and enjoy working with children
  • Swim club an asset
  • Rate of pay $15.13/hour

Pool Supervisor

Atlantis is seeking a Pool Supervisor for the 2009 season. The Pool Supervisor will oversee daily operation of our swimming lessons, operations and staff and will act as a liaison for parents. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with people of all ages, have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely and demonstrate a mature, positive and engaging personality.

Duties:
The Supervisor is responsible for managing all programs and activities at the pool. This includes:

  • liaising with parents, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with instructors and office staff
  • supervising, evaluating and training swimming instructors and volunteers
  • assisting in recruitment and scheduling staff
  • assisting in program development and implementation of goals, policies and promotions
  • designing and running employee training programs
  • participating in registration and teaching, as required
  • ensuring that the skills and standards are adhered to and that every participant has a positive and rewarding experience at Atlantis Swim Lessons.

Qualifications:

  • excellence as a swim instructor and lifeguard
  • thorough knowledge of all Red Cross levels and their criteria
  • experience and competence as a leader and team builder
  • holds a current NLS award
  • holds a current Red Cross WSI award
  • holds a current first aid and CPR certificate
  • a University degree or college diploma in physical education, recreation or human kinetics, &/or more advanced swimming leadership awards are also an asset.

Dates/Times:
Monday and Tuesday OFF
Wednesday to Fridays 3:15 – 8:15
Saturdays 8:30-5:30
Sundays 8:30-4:30
Total hours: 32 per week Sept - June (40 hours in the summer)

Rate of Pay:
$17.20 plus 4% vacation pay

Cycling Instructors

We are now accepting resumes for our Summer 2009 Bike Camps. Cycling Instructors teach small groups of children bike safety and skills; they are fun, creative, dynamic and above all, responsible.

This is the perfect job for those who need experience working with children: aspiring teachers, early childhoood development students, as well as those interested in Human Kinetics/Sports and Recreation Management.

Cycling instructors are required to:

  • be 17 years or older in the calendar year
  • have experience with young children (aged 4-12)
  • hold a valid First Aid certificate

Instructors are offered approximately 5.5 hours daily, (with opportunities for additional hours). Hours are 9:15 - 12:00 and 12:45 - 3:30. Wage ranges from $9.62 - $13.45/hour, depending on experience.

Cycling Supervisors

Pedalheads is now looking for Bike Camp site supervisors for the 2009 season.

Duties:
Supervisors are responsible for managing all programs and activities at their site. This includes public relations, safety, community relations and administration. Supervisors oversee up to 30 bike instructors and 20 volunteers, (site dependant) they ensure that the bike camps levels, skills, and standards are adhered to and that every participant has a positive and rewarding experience at Pedalheads.

Qualifications:
We prefer candidates who have teaching, physical education, or recreation degrees or diplomas. The positions suit teachers, Early Childhood Educators, or other professionals who have the summer off. You must have extensive organizing and teaching experience with children of all ages, as well as supervisory experience with youth ages 13-24.

We are looking for mature and dynamic leaders who are organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.

Dates/Times:
Attendance at Supervisor Training in June is mandatory.

Camps run July - August / Monday to Friday 37-40 hours per week.

Rate of Pay:
$14.40-$17.20 per hour depending upon experience and education.
